04 CEO Pneumax S.p.a. ROSSELLA BOTTACINI INNOVATION AND PEOPLE: THE WORLD OF TOMORROW Editorial Difficulties often prepare normal people for an extraordinary fate and never underestimate the problem, nor the ability to deal with it. Talking about growth today, in a scenario plagued by wars and conflicts, means being able to look beyond the horizon while proceeding without deviating, with concreteness and realism, doing everything possible to seize every opportunity, strengthened by the value that we have always attributed to the sustainability of 'made in Italy', re-launching our tradition and combining it digitally as a tool for innovation and not as innovation in itself. This period reminds us of the awareness and strength to start again, giving voice to an Italy that wants to react and get back on its feet, because it is now, it is today, that we must run fast and bring our country back to competitive levels. We want to think in terms of opportunities because we are used to being on the market, to overcoming its pitfalls, through our experience, know-how and flexibility to find alternative solutions. All this together with the value and the pride of belonging to a nation with an unparalleled intrinsic 'Value', built up over time and irrespective of geographical locations or a particular industry. In a world where man and machine are increasingly integrated, there are many challenges for the future, from AI to ESG. Rise of artificial intelligence will have many positive effects on work and business relations, and will mark a change in civilisation in our economic and social life. In this sense, its gradual spread must be seized as an opportunity to prepare our people, equipping them with the essential skills to be able to use it effectively as an intelligent tool, guaranteeing the relaunch of the company on time, stimulating knowledge and internal learning processes, investing in an ethical manner starting from the care and valorisation of our people, while respecting differences, who have always represented the true asset of our daily actions. Today, more than ever, because economic growth can only be such if it is truly inclusive. We are also called upon to address ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance): social and environmental responsibility are among the most difficult aspects to handle, but they are also the ones that will determine the organisation's ability

01 05 to stay in the market in the long run. The two letters, E and S, have many binding factors and represent a pair that is often difficult to separate. Among the many links, there is at least one timeless one: People. We continue to firmly believe in this: our People are and will always remain the engines of change, the real beating heart of the company that considers the experience, commitment and passion of its employees an unrivalled and irreplaceable strength.

06 Investment in R&D is one of the pillars of Pneumax's strategy. Thanks to the know-how developed over the years, today the company plays a leading role in the development of new, increasingly multidisciplinary technological solutions. THREE BUSINESS UNITS AND ONE OBJECTIVE: PROVIDE SOLUTIONS #MARKETS & TRENDS The market is experiencing a period of transition, between the introduction of regulations, the implementation of new production technologies and the adoption of different business and organisational models. Pneumax maintains a leading role thanks to the know-how generated over time. Today, in fact, technological development does not only concern the aspect of digitalisation but also involves the most diverse sectors, which interconnect, taking on a real multidisciplinary connotation. In this path, Pneumax approaches the market with its three Business Units strongly focused on product and applications (Industrial Automation, Process Automation and Automotive) supported by a technical department, whose core is R&D, transversal to them that plays a technological coordination role, gathering and developing drivers, to guide investments and resources on precise innovation tracks. Focus on

01 07 Fabrizio Cattaneo Technical Director Pneumax S.p.a. Looking at the activities of its technical department, it is possible to, in the first instance, trace what for Pneumax are the main development guidelines that characterise the market as a whole today, and in particular that of industrial automation. "Today the world is moving towards IoT platforms and, more generally, towards the demand for solutions that are able to offer maximum connectivity and information sharing," explains Fabrizio Cattaneo, Technical and R&D Director. This is an important driver that has led our work over the past 24 months and will continue to drive the development and integration of new products which allow this type of function to be performed. INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION: CONNECTIVITY AND FLEXIBILITY. Pneumax's most recent system upgrades aim to maximise flexibility even in products that are by themselves standard, allowing them to be used in connection with multi-protocol platforms, as well as increasing the userfriendliness of the systems through, for example, reduced set-up times and programming. It is precisely with this objective that the new EVO solenoid valve range with integrated PX electronics has been developed. Another fundamental leitmotif that Cattaneo points out is related to the topic of energy efficiency, of the green and circular economy. The head of Pneumax's technical department also looks forward to the advent of the first real Artificial Intelligence algorithms, which unlike the currently available calculation algorithms, which are based on known events, will instead be truly intelligent systems with machine learning capabilities. Also capable, therefore, of describing machine states and potential system drifts from the acquisition of essential operating data, with the aim of alerting users in good time to possible failure probabilities and system downtimes, obtaining a predictive result for the system. Thus, integrating these process intelligence capabilities even locally on the same components where the sensors are located. 1.

08 PROCESS AUTOMATION: CERTIFIED RELIABILITY. From the important background of products in Pneumax pneumatic automation offering, the Process Automation BU was born in 2016, the creation of which was accompanied by a major overhaul of all products from a performance point of view. This is to guarantee the possibility of installation in plants typical in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power Generation and Water Treatment industries: plants that mainly require outdoor installation and vast temperature resistance ranges, from -60° C to +100° C. The division entered the market in 2017, and has already acquired a considerable business in a short time: just to mention the last year, all the process automation in the regasifiers in Piombino is Pneumax branded, as is all the automation of gas network distribution in the new Snam plant in Minerbio (BO). Another example of relevant installations in the world are Shell's two oil platforms in New Mexico, where all process valves were automated with Pneumax products. "The main focus of our BU is to seek maximum product reliability,” says Marco Mosconi, Process Automation BU Manager, “so we are investing heavily in testing solutions, even going beyond the minimum system requirements of the standards for the sectors we focus on”. In order to pursue the goal of maximum reliability, the work of the technical department is fundamental in supporting the division, in particular in the study of the mechanical domain of components in order to engineer and certify them. As a result, 80% of the solutions are SIL-certified, guaranteeing a high standard of performance in terms of safety. This is not only a matter of mere regulatory compliance, but reflects an ethical aspect and environmental awareness, which leads the company to strive to ensure that its products go well beyond the perfect application of the regulatory framework and standards by performing their function in the face of all eventualities, protecting the environment, the safety and health of people. The basis for this is strong materials research, especially in the field of steels, machining and engineering,” says Mosconi, “and a great deal of attention to the reliability of the seals. Added to this is the commitment to ensure traceability throughout the production process and product life cycle. Marco Mosconi BU Manager Process Automation Pneumax S.p.a. 2.

01 09 Lucia Terragni BU Manager Automotive Pneumax S.p.a. The Automotive BU operates in the automotive sector with special focus on the BIW-Body in White process. A sector that has always been a driving force in the Italian economy, which today faces an important and epochal ecological, energetical and technological transition. "Despite the fact that the players in the sector are experiencing a great deal of uncertainty due to the lack of clarity in supranational regulation, in the automotive sector today we are seeing R&D investments on an unprecedented scale,” explains Lucia Terragni, Head of BU Automotive. This is also to cope with a transition that is imposing a real revolution on the sector, where starting from an initial desire to reduce the environmental impact of vehicles, we have moved on to a real redefinition of the concept of mobility and technology enabled fundamentally by digitalisation on two fronts: the streamlining of combustion processes and the development of new business models thanks to data collection”. In view of the ban in 2035 of the production of light vehicles with combustion engines, the main trend in the sector is therefore electrification, which in terms of its impact on the BIW process is linked to so-called lightweighting, i.e. the trend to reduce the weight of cars as much as possible to compensate for that of batteries. For Pneumax, this means engineering and manufacturing of new products that are suitable for new materials, aluminium alloys but also composites or carbon alloys. An important driver of the Division's development concerns the safety of the operator: the latest series of clamps we have presented is equipped with a patented pneumatic-mechanical system, integrated directly into the end cap of the device, which keeps the clamping arm in the open position even with is no air. A further driver of development that impacts on every design choice is the reduction of the energy consumption for the production process; all components are designed with a focus on energy saving, such as our High Efficiency Clamp series, which, thanks to an original solution, saves up to 40% in air consumption compared to the competition, with the same functional parameters. AUTOMOTIVE: SAFETY & ENERGY SAVING 3.

The new EVO solenoid valve range represents the evolution of the very concept of control by Pneumax. The difficulty of finding semiconductors and, more generally, electronic components has given a hard time to many manufacturing sectors over the past three years, causing production slowdowns and delivery delays. The component crisis gave rise to strategies to deal with it, many of them based on the standardisation of control electronics to generate economies of scale and reduce part numbers. This process, which is certainly beneficial for the end customer, must not compromise another very important requirement of the market, which is flexibility of use. In the area of machine tools, particularly special machine tools - where Pneumax is very well established - a primary technological driver, in addition to improved performance, is the ease of reconfiguring the machine as the life cycle of products is getting shorter and shorter, which is why set-up times must be as fast as possible. “The goal that Pneumax achieved by introducing the new PX control electronics,” explains Roberto Rivoltella, Product Manager Control Solutions, “on all of its solenoid valve islands was precisely that of maintaining the benefits of standardisation while combining them with the need to guarantee great flexibility”. In other words, Pneumax has seized the opportunity from a real problem by revising the concept of its electronics and making it available for all of the company's solenoid valve islands, from the most recent 3000 series, to the previous Optyma in all its versions, to the 2700 series designed for the automotive sector. The new version of these solenoid valves, characterised by the initials EVO has therefore the feature of offering a unique communication system based on the new PX electronics. Roberto Rivoltella Product Manager - Control Solutions Pneumax S.p.a. THE EVOLUTION OF CONTROL: WE SPEAK EVO #PRODUCTS & TECHNOLOGIES 10

01 ONE FOR ALL: THE RANGE IS BORN Presented for the first time at the last edition of the Hannover Fair, the valve island range in the new EVO version integrates the new multi-protocol module of the PX Series, designed to manage pneumatic and electro-pneumatic components capable of interfacing with the most common communication protocols, guaranteeing extreme flexibility. "What we did," explains Roberto Rivoltella," was essentially reconsider all our standard production and work on two fronts: on the one hand we have given continuity to production for our customers, and on the other we have set up a major development project on this new electronics and related firmware with the idea of developing, first on the market, a single Control Unit, that is, a single multi-protocol communication system - capable of managing all the main industrial protocols available on the market (CANopen®, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT®, Profinet IO RT, IO-Link, CC-Link IE) - and, consequently, create an electronic unit capable of controlling all the types of solenoid valve islands we have in our product range. In fact, the PX multi-serial module was derived from the evolution of the electronics on the 3000 series; on that basic concept we developed the complete modularity for all other pneumatic control systems. Until the launch of the EVO, each new version or product configuration introduced to the market was matched by dedicated electronics, creating a very heterogeneous system in terms of connectivity. Pneumax has come up with a new concept that brings all types of pneumatics and electropneumatics in line.” The PX Series, therefore, epitomises the 'control' concept offered by Pneumax: a unique solution that can be used either stand-alone or integrated in a solenoid valve island. Both digital and analogue I/O modules can be integrated and the stand-alone solution can be connected via SUB-D cable with all manifolds. The bodies and sub-base made of technopolymer and the compact design to optimise the overall dimensions of the system make the PX Series extremely light and guarantee maximum flexibility of use. “This new approach,” continues Rivoltella, “allows us to be extremely interesting in the application of special machines in sectors such as assembly or packaging, which, due to the nature of the products they manufacture and which have increasingly shorter life cycles, must be easily reconfigurable even after the first installation and likewise expandable or integrable at later stages in relation to the need to manufacture new products. You can start with a simple block consisting of 4 valves and an interface of 8 I/Os, and work-in-progress to its maximum extension in terms of both solenoid valves and I/Os, up to 128 in + 128 out digital and 8 in + 8 out analogue." New technologies related to 3D printing make a major contribution to reducing the time to market of products, as well as enabling new approaches to both design and production. ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING AT THE SERVICE OF AUTOMATION #TECHNOLOGY 12 Focus on

Technological evolution has led, on the one hand, to the demand for increasingly complex solutions that require customisation already at the design stage; and on the other hand, to the need to reduce the time to market and the various lead times as much as possible by optimising all phases, from design to prototype production and testing, right up to actual industrialisation. Today, more than ever before, Additive Manufacturing is used to produce increasingly precise models, often with geometries that cannot be obtained with traditional processes, in reduced times and with a quality comparable if not superior in many cases to the standard. Pneumax has adopted these technologies, flanking the usual 3D powder printers used mainly for an initial prototyping phase, with state-of-the-art machinery such as the new printer that uses laser stereolithography technology and through the galvanometer scanning method is characterised by high build speed and precision. The laser source emits ultraviolet rays that solidify the photosensitive resin layer by layer. Using a vertical positioning device, the base of the modelling platform emerges by a measurement corresponding to the thickness of the solidified layer, until completion. These movement capabilities, together with the synchronised laser, allow the creation of exceptionally complex and precise three-dimensional models, and it is used in other fields to manufacture components for sectors such as the dental industry. The use of 3D printing makes it possible both to reduce prototyping times and to explore possible solutions by breaking free from the limitations of traditional design. It is therefore also possible to obtain products that cannot be manufactured by machining by chip removal or moulding, and to produce small production batches also in this case without the constraint of tooling costs, which are characteristic of the traditional production cycle. 14 From dimensional inspection by structured light laser to the new computerised axial tomography machine, the most advanced technologies at the service of Pneumax quality. OBJECTIVE: TOTAL QUALITY #QUALITY Provide quality, reliable and technologically advanced components that can create a competitive advantage in customer applications, integrated in intelligent production lines and machines. From this assumption stems the Pneumax Group's desire to constantly invest in its production lines, combining process efficiency with constant product quality control. The correct design of production cycles and the use of state-of-theart technology limits the possibility of operator error to a maximum, examples of which are guided driving systems or pick to light systems. At the same time, the continuously invested quality department is a clear expression of this concept. Coordinate measuring machines, all equipped with continuous scanning, analyse components with millesimal accuracy. From the comparison with the mathematical reference model, information is extracted so that any corrections can be made. The structured light laser digitises objects and through dedicated software it is possible to make dimensional analyses. This sophisticated measuring system not only provides a considerable amount of information, but also enables checks to be carried out in a shorter time than traditional bench-top instruments. Among the most important innovations Focus on

01 15 THE NEW COMPUTERISED AXIAL TOMOGRAPHY MACHINE ENABLES THE INSPECTION OF BOTH METAL AND PLASTIC PRODUCTS AND COMPONENTS introduced in the last year is the latest generation of computerised axial tomography instrumentation, which makes it possible to inspect both metal and plastic products and components even in the inner layers of the material with considerable advantages for dimensional study, for fine-tuning sampling and, above all, essential in the search for possible imperfections. Plastics and elastomers are also monitored through the observation of thermograms provided by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry): this control activity ensures that the materials used comply with the requirements defined by the project specifications, thus not only dimensional checks but also attention to raw materials properties. In the process of computerised axial tomography, the object is rotated and X-rayed from different angles, generating a series of cross-sectional images: powerful software processes these images, reconstructing a high-resolution 3D visualisation, allowing non-destructive inspection of the internal structure.

The introduction of advanced IT systems is Pneumax's response to the increasingly articulated and complex threats related to the IT world. Giacomo Ronzulli IT Manager Pneumax S.p.a. If it is true that information is one of the most important assets for a company, whether it relates to products, production processes or management activities, then it is crucial that every company is able to protect and safeguard this asset. The topic of cybersecurity is as topical as ever for essentially two reasons, firstly because the threats related to the cyber world have become increasingly frequent and sophisticated and, not least, the speed with which they change and evolve is ever increasing. It therefore becomes indispensable to structure defence systems that are at the same time robust, reliable and flexible, i.e. that can be quickly readapted in relation to new threats. Ideally, it is the defence system itself that automatically remodels itself the moment it senses a new threat; the integration of artificial intelligence within these systems makes this very activity possible, which can be described as somewhat predictive and adaptive. CYBERSECURITY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE #IT & SECURITY Focus on 16

To protect our computer systems and corporate data, Pneumax has built a true defence ecosystem, implementing multiple solutions such as: ∙ Perimeter FIREWALL protection systems ∙ EDR antivirus systems based on AI implementation (Artificial Intelligence) ∙ RMM systems monitoring the health status of IT devices ∙ NDR systems analysing abnormal behaviour in the corporate network ∙ Backup and disaster systems recovery DRaaS In order to potentially protect individual corporate IT devices, since 2020, in addition to the company’s firewall, an AI-based EDR antivirus system has been introduced, which makes artificial intelligence its strong point. This, in fact, does not need to have an up-to-date archive of viral bases as it is able to recognise the behaviour of software by identifying it as malicious the moment it performs unusual or never performed operations by the individual device. Another key aspect for Pneumax is that it is equipped with RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools that allow it to keep all IT devices up-to-date automatically and without interfering with daily operations. To complete the protection of Pneumax group’s information systems, we introduced an NDR system also based on artificial intelligence capable of detecting any different behaviour from that normally visible within the company for both the IT world and the factory OT (Operation Technology) world. The NDR system at Pneumax is backed by a dedicated team, more commonly called SOC (Security Operation Centre) through which one of our partners takes immediate action, especially in times of company downtime with a guaranteed 24/7 presence. Threats to cybersecurity in the OT world are multiple and can have 01 17

serious consequences, such as the loss of control over processes, physical damage to infrastructure, and even, in the most serious cases, the loss of human lives. Last but not least, we decided to invest in modern local backup systems and in the Cloud, which allow us to reboot our infrastructure directly in the Cloud (DRaaS - Disaster Recovery as a Service) in the event of emergency situations occurring in the company. All these systems aim to provide us with good protection against cyber attacks by allowing us to identify them as early as possible and thus giving us the possibility to react quickly to them. This prevents their equally rapid deployment in the company with the consequent reduction of downtime of systems and core business. A Security Operations Centre (SOC) is a specialised environment dedicated to real-time surveillance and monitoring of IT security 'events'. SOC integrates advanced technologies, such as threat detection systems and behavioural analysis, together with highly specialised professionals, to detect and mitigate potential security threats of data and systems. A firewall is a device or software that controls network traffic between two different networks. The firewall can be used to protect a private network from a public network, such as the Internet. Firewalls work by analysing the data packets that are exchanged between two networks and use security rules to determine whether to allow or block a data packet: they can thus prevent access to unauthorised users, prevent the spread of malware in the network, and counter DoS 'Denial of Service' attacks, a type of cyber attack that aims to disrupt access to a website or service. EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) software is able to detect malicious software from the earliest days and intervenes automatically when it performs unusual operations. EDR refers to a security solution that enables rapid detection and response to cyber threats on all devices in the corporate network that have an operating system (Microsoft, MacOS, Linux), such as desktops, laptops, workstations and servers. EDR uses a number of techniques to detect threats, including: analysing the behaviour of processes and files, analysing authorisations, analysing network traffic. Once a threat is detected, the EDR can be configured to autonomously block the execution of the process or file, isolate the compromised device and notify the system administrator. A defence ecosystem based on advanced information systems. Firewall EDR 18

01 RMM tools: this type of software is mainly used for two types of operations: gather information from remote endpoints and networks to assess their integrity, perform various IT management tasks remotely on these endpoints and networks without interruption. This is crucial to avoid creating a more favourable habitat for the spread of malicious software by acting on the installation of patches, service packs and security updates necessary to fix bugs and vulnerabilities in the operating systems and software installed in our systems. OT (Operational Technology) is the set of technologies that control and monitor the physical processes in factories, and which complements the world called IT (Information Technology), i.e. the technologies used for collecting, processing, storing and distributing information (Computers, Software, Networks, Data Storage, Communications). The acronym NDR (Network Detection and Response) refers to a security solution to detect and respond to cyber threats on the corporate network. The NDR uses a variety of techniques to detect threats, such as analysing network traffic, logs and network devices. Once a threat is detected, the NDR can be configured to block malicious traffic and autonomously isolate the compromised network segment, notifying the system administrator. RMM OT NDR 19

20 Innovating for Pneumax is the ability to develop products and services in an 'ecosystem' that fosters structured and continuous innovation, connecting the experience and knowledge of all stakeholders inside and outside the company. Underlying this goal can only be the constant investment in technological, application and not least methodological skills. The real challenge is to structure knowledge development in such a way that To ensure a process of systematic and structured innovation, it is essential to invest in the training of people. PNEUMAX ACADEMY: TRAINING AT THE SERVICE OF INNOVATION #TRAINING Focus on

01 21 it becomes a real process that systematically generates value for the company. If it were measurable, in fact, competence could be considered as the distinctive and most strategic asset of a company, hence the need to create a structure with the aim of managing this asset as best as possible: Pneumax Academy. An in-house body within the Pneumax Group that was first set up with the aim of organising the training courses provided by Pneumax, but which then, in fact, became the umbrella under which various activities converge, including the creation of training tools: didactic panels, documentation, multimedia design support media, such as the Pneufluid software, whose fully updated version was released in 2023. Enhancing skills does not only mean direct training, but also structuring partnerships with universities, research centres and schools that, especially in Italy, offer not only excellent workshops but also top-level skills with the world's best lecturers and researchers. Pneumax has partnerships with several Italian and foreign universities, from the Faculty of Engineering in Pavia, to the Milan Polytechnic, to the Lodz University of Technology in Poland, to name but a few, and numerous technical institutes, which, in addition to lecturing in pneumatics and automation courses, PNEUMAX TRAINING PROGRAMME COMBINES THEORY FUNDAMENTALS WITH PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES. “LEARNING BY DOING” IS THE PHILOSOPHY WITH WHICH PNEUMAX TRAINERS SET UP COURSES AND ACTIVITIES.

22 The multifunctional workbench 'TTP-Teach Train Play' made for educational purposes is the result of collaboration between the school and industry. The jewel in the crown of the Pneumax Academy is the brand new workshop set up at the headquarters in Lurano, equipped with educational desks and tools to facilitate both theoretical and practical learning; thanks to this new structure, the Pneumax Academy will soon be recognised as a certified CETOP centre (European reference association for the fluid power sector) able to issue certificates certifying skills up to level P3. A new CETOP-certified workshop it has set up workshops and equipment for training (including, for example, the ‘Smile’ workshop at the Kilometro Rosso in Dalmine, the ‘made-in-Italy automation workshop’ at the Giorgi Institute in Verona or the ‘pneumatic automation workshop’ at the Salesians in San Zeno). Pneumax is also among the members of the ITS Mechatronics Lombardy foundation. Another non-negligible aspect related to the ability to imagine multidisciplinary systems, concerns the involvement of other companies in the process of analysis and development of products and knowledge itself, in order to create industrial partnerships with the vision that by bringing together different skills in each respective fields, one can make a difference; hence, for example, the participation in a project that saw the creation of educational equipment together with ABB, SICK, Solema, Aesys presented in the 2023 edition of SPS. The automation workshop at the Giorgi Institute in Verona

23 Founded in 1978, FIAP celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2023. A success story that has led it to play a leading role in the Italian automation scene. FIAP: A 45-YEAR EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY #NETWORK In a journey spanning 45 years, Fiap S.p.A. has charted an extraordinary course in automation that has led it today to be not only one of the main Italian subsidiaries of the Pneumax Group, but a benchmark of excellence for the distribution of leading brands in the automation sector. This milestone celebrates the company's success in innovation, technological excellence and dedication. Since 1978 Fiap S.p.A. has in fact been the market leader in the Industrial Supplies sector, recognised as one of the main Italian companies able to supply not only quality components, but also services and application skills that make the company a true industrial partner, both for customers and for the suppliers themselves. In addition to being a reference for the range of Pneumax branded products and solutions, in fact, FIAP can boast relationships with leading companies in sectors such as power transmission. An example of this is the partnership with Motovario which makes the company one of the main MAC centres (Motovario Assembly Centre), by virtue of a constantly stocked warehouse to reduce delivery lead times to a minimum and at the same time thanks to the ability to assemble and adapt reducers, gearmotors, variators and motors to the needs of all industrial systems, assembling them according to the customer's needs while maintaining the manufacturer's warranty. The constant commitment of the founder Romano Gasparini with Tiziano Venturelli, Eros Righi, Elis Righi and Giorgia Gasparini, constitutes the common thread between the solidity of a reality that has grown over time, which today can boast a staff of over 40 collaborators, and a strategic vision that projects it into a future characterised by "sustainable development". A path that continues with the utmost attention to the constant evolution of services to the customer and the enhancement of interpersonal relationships based on respect and people skills. 01

24 In 2023 Titan Engineering celebrated 30 years in business. The company of the Pneumax group has been manufacturing fittings and components for connecting pneumatic circuits since 1993. TITAN ENGINEERING 30 YEARS OF CONNECTION SOLUTIONS #NETWORK The name Titan, used by many other companies in the area, is linked to Mount Titan, on which, and around which, the Republic of San Marino was born, where the company was founded in 1993 and still resides in a three-storey building totalling 3,500 m2. A strategic area where there are leading companies in some of the main sectors of Italian industry, starting with that of woodworking and related machinery (aluminium, glass, etc.). Founded as a logistics coordination centre for the distribution of different types of pneumatic components, the company has grown over time by increasingly focusing on pneumatic fittings. Precisely in those years this type of product was undergoing a phase of evolution, common to the entire pneumatics sector: on the one hand the constant development of the Italian market, on the other the entry of new stakeholders, including foreign ones, into the sector. Today, Titan Engineering is an integral part of the Pneumax Group and is a strategic subsidiary in both production and sales. Francesco De Lillo Sole Administrator Titan Engineering Spa Pneumax S.p.a.

01 25 An elementary component affected by a strong evolution “The fitting is perhaps the most basic component of a pneumatic circuit,” explains CEO Francesco De Lillo. “Nevertheless, it too has undergone a strong evolution: over the years, the hose fittings philosophy has progressively shifted towards the automatic system (pushin), abandoning the push-on system. Over the course of three decades, the company has created a 'natural' growth path, which has firstly involved the expansion of the range, the evolution of sales support services and, as a logical consequence, the hiring of new personnel to consolidate a company structure with additional, increasingly specialised functions and skills. In a first phase, Pneumax's contribution mainly involved the involvement of the entire distribution network with an increasing focus on the automatic brass fitting. The growth trajectory continued with a gradual transformation from commercial to production activity, in particular with the start of production of a new range of technopolymer components. More recent years have coincided with the creation of the Research & Development activity, transforming the company from 'reactive' to 'proactive', with a more focused approach to following, and anticipating where possible, market trends. This has led to an evolution of both production processes and products: production has been upgraded by adding state-of-the-art fully automated robotic assembly machines and the organisation has been optimised to obtain certifications including ISO 9001. At the same time, product development has followed drivers related to specific sectors: this is the case, for instance, of FCM fittings dedicated to the food sector that require certifications such as MOCA and NSF."
